About the Author<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sanne de Boer<\/strong> is a Dutch journalist who has lived in Calabria since 2006. She is the first foreign journalist based in Calabria to write about the \u2018Ndrangheta, and regularly appears on TV and radio as a mafia expert. Her first book, The New Mafia,<\/em> was published originally in Dutch as Mafiopoli<\/em> and was nominated for the \u2018Brusseprijs\u2019, a prestigious award for the best book of journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t
